Disney+ hasn't published a single global release time. Check your app on the evening of November 3 if you're in the Americas.
Where to watch The Remarried Empress
| Region | Platform |
|---|---|
| United States | Hulu, and Disney+ via the Disney+/Hulu bundle (reported) |
| South Korea | Disney+ |
| Most other Disney+ markets (Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Canada) | Disney+ |
Disney+ availability and naming differ by market. In some regions, Korean content sits inside a separate hub or tier. If a search for "The Remarried Empress" turns up nothing, try the Korean title (재혼 황후) or the Disney+ "Originals" row. It isn't on Netflix, Viki or Prime Video.

Cast and characters
| Actor | Character |
|---|---|
| Shin Min-a | Navier, Empress of the Eastern Empire |
| Ju Ji-hoon | Sovieshu, Emperor of the Eastern Empire |
| Lee Se-young | Rashta, a runaway slave |
| Lee Jong-suk | Heinrey, Crown Prince of the Western Kingdom |
Director Cho Su-won directs all ten episodes. Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong-yeol adapted the script, according to Resonate.
How long is it to binge?
The three episodes shown at the Busan International Film Festival ran 151 minutes combined, according to Resonate, or roughly 50 minutes each. At that length:
| Plan | Time needed |
|---|---|
| Premiere batch (eps 1–4) | About 3.5 hours |
| Each weekly pair | About 1h40 |
| Whole series (10 eps) | About 8–8.5 hours |
That makes it one of the shortest prestige K-dramas of the season, a one-weekend watch once it's complete on November 25. Running times can vary between episodes, so treat these as estimates.
What's it about? (No spoilers)
Navier is a capable, respected empress. Her marriage falls apart when Emperor Sovieshu brings Rashta into the palace and asks for a divorce. Instead of quietly stepping aside, Navier responds with a move of her own: she asks to remarry, to the prince of the rival Western Kingdom. The divorce turns into a political contest between two empires.
The source is one of the most successful Korean fantasy romances of the past decade. It started as a web novel, and the Naver Webtoon adaptation has racked up enormous global readership (Resonate puts it at close to three billion views). That's a lot of readers with strong opinions about casting and pacing, so expect plenty of online debate in the first week.

Is it worth watching? Our early read
Based on what's been shown so far, three things work in its favour:
- A short, finished-in-a-month run. Ten episodes released over three weeks means no long mid-season wait, and anyone who joins late can catch up in a weekend.
- Casting built on contrast. Shin Min-a has spent years playing warm, grounded leads. Navier asks her to be cool and controlled, which is a more interesting stretch than a typical romance role.
- The four-episode opener. Disney+ is front-loading the story. You should know by the end of episode 4 whether the show is for you.
The risk is the usual one with webtoon adaptations: compressing a long serialized story into ten episodes. Fans of the source should expect cuts and some rearranged plot lines.
Three episodes had their world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in October, before the streaming launch. We'll add a proper review after release week.
Similar shows to watch alongside it
- 100 Days of Deception: a period romance with plenty of palace-style scheming, weekly on Netflix until November 29.
- Disney+ also carries ENA's Crash 2 from November 16 if you want something completely different: Lee Min-ki and Kwak Sun-young return as a traffic-crime investigation team, with NCT's Jisung joining as a rookie officer.
Quick checklist for release week
- Confirm you're on the right service. In the US that's Hulu or the Disney+ bundle. Elsewhere it's Disney+.
- Add it to your watchlist now. Disney+ often surfaces originals on the home screen only after they go live, so searching early saves time.
- Turn on subtitles in your language. Disney+ originals usually launch with many subtitle tracks, but check the audio and subtitle menu if yours is missing.
- Mute webtoon spoilers. The source has been out for years. If you haven't read it, mute "Navier" and "Heinrey" on social media until the finale.
