Upcoming K-Dramas: December 2026 to Early 2027

December 2026 has four confirmed headline premieres. Kim Woo-bin's baseball drama Gift (tvN, December 5) comes first, then two arrive on December 11: Netflix's Tantara with Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo, and MBC's Your Ground with Han Hyo-joo and Gong Myung. JTBC's Goryeo-era epic Sacred Jewel is also set for December, but without a fixed date yet. For early 2027, Netflix has teased several big titles but hasn't dated any of them.

This page separates confirmed dates from announced windows and teased titles, because fan calendars often mix them up.

Tantara (Netflix, December 11)

The biggest K-drama release of the year's final month. Writer Noh Hee-kyung (Our Blues, It's Okay, That's Love) and director Lee Yoon-jung (The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince) tell the story of Korea's music business from the 1960s to the 1980s. Song Hye-kyo plays Min-ja, who claws her way into the industry, and Gong Yoo plays her childhood friend Dong-gu. Netflix hasn't said whether all episodes drop at once. Gift (tvN, December 5)

Kim Woo-bin's first TV drama since Our Blues (2022). He plays a former pro pitching coach who, after an accident, can spot baseball talent at a glance. He takes over the worst-ranked high school team in the country. It's based on a Kakao webtoon. Seo Eun-soo plays the team's leader, who would rather develop players than chase wins.

Your Ground (MBC, December 11)

Also a baseball story, which makes this an oddly sporty December. Gong Myung plays a pitcher whose career stalls after a single setback, and Han Hyo-joo plays a former lawyer turned sports agent. MBC confirmed a year-end Friday–Saturday slot in September, and Money Today reported December 11 in late October. It takes over from The Perfect Lie.

Sacred Jewel (JTBC, December)

Set in 1258 during Goryeo's war with the Mongol Empire, this action romance follows a royal guard commander (Ahn Bo-hyun) on a mission to recover a sacred relic. It was invited to the Cannes International Series Festival earlier this year. English titles vary (God's Beads, Sacred Jewel, The Divine Bead), so search all three on your streaming app.

The live-action Solo Leveling with Byeon Woo-seok was also on stage at Netflix's event, but no release window was given. Treat any "Solo Leveling 2027" date you see as a guess.

Our pick: what to clear your schedule for

Tantara is the obvious one. A Noh Hee-kyung script with Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo is about as close to a sure thing as K-dramas get, and Netflix's global release means nobody has to wait for regional licensing. The sleeper is Gift. Sports dramas built on a "hopeless team" premise tend to hold audiences, and Kim Woo-bin's comeback will get plenty of attention in Korea.

A practical tip: December brings year-end award shows (KBS, MBC and SBS Drama Awards) that often bump regular episodes. If a weekly show suddenly skips a week in late December, that's usually why.

Fan calendars and databases list many more December titles, but several of those dates trace back to no official announcement. We'll move titles up as networks confirm them.
