One-of-a-Kind Romance: Where to Watch, Release Time & Cast

One-of-a-Kind Romance premieres on TVING on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 6 p.m. KST, according to Korean outlets iMBC and Special Times. Outside Korea it is reported to stream on Viu in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and on ABEMA in Japan from the same day, iMBC and Tenasia report. Availability varies by region. The series runs 12 episodes, per Special Times and Soompi.

Red Velvet's Joy (credited under her real name, Park Soo-young) plays job seeker Gong Yu-il opposite Kim Hyun-jin as top star Tak Mu-i. It is adapted from the Naver webtoon of the same name by the artist Dubu.

Where to watch One-of-a-Kind Romance, by region

iMBC describes the TVING, Viu and ABEMA release as a "선행 독점 공개", an early exclusive premiere on those three services. That wording leaves room for other platforms to pick the series up later, but none had been announced at the time of writing. Viu operates only in selected countries, so being in a listed region does not guarantee a given title is on your local Viu.

Tip: if you are in the US, Canada or Europe, no legal option has been announced yet. Searching Netflix or Viki for the title will likely come up empty until a regional deal is reported.

Some fan-run schedules already list a Monday–Tuesday pattern, while others show weekly releases. None of the Korean or English reports reviewed for this article confirms how the 12 episodes will be spread out, so no episode-by-episode table is given here. iMBC gives 6 p.m. as the release time across TVING, Viu and ABEMA. Viu and ABEMA had not confirmed their own upload times in sources reviewed for this article, and subtitled versions can arrive later.

Cast

Roles are as described by Soompi and Korean outlets. Kim Jin-young directs, Jeon Hyun-mi writes the script and Corpus Korea produces, according to iMBC and Wikitree. Tenasia notes this is Joy's first acting role in about four years, since KakaoTV's Once Upon a Small Town (2022).

What's it about? (No spoilers)

According to Soompi and Sports Kyunghyang, Gong Yu-il just wants an ordinary life, but a chance meeting turns her into the manager of Tak Mu-i, a star who found the strength to keep going through a novel she wrote years ago. Korean outlets frame it as a "mutual fandom" (상호 덕질) romance, with each lead a fan of the other.

The source webtoon has run on Naver Webtoon since 2018 and has about 390 million cumulative global views, Wikitree reports.

Our take: at 12 episodes this is a short, light watch by K-drama standards. Readers of the webtoon may want to wait for the full release pattern before starting, since an all-at-once or twice-weekly drop changes how quickly the story can be binged.
